I need something to put my mind on in my free time and as it turns out I still love PureBasic. I have been thinking about building a 2D engine to make a sidescroller in PureBasic (which for some unknown reason I never did before). Currently I am only in planning and preparations like building PBHGEN the PureBasic Header Generator to allow dynamic programming instead of being forced to build procedures in linear order, having to declare "LuaPrint()" before being able to use it in "LuaInitialize()" which happens to be above it was a pain and having thousands of Declare statements a mess.
I am still looking for 2D graphics artists to help drawing and some people that love other resources like music and sound. It will probably be a bit of a pain to even get close to the graphics of classics like Donkey Kong Country as they used 3D rendering to build 2D sprites causing great lighting effects and fluid animations, still doesn't hold me back from at least building the engine for some of the weirdest games ever!
I am hoping to get Yarrrrr on the team for this project, we did allot of teamwork in the past and especially on projects like this he knows his ways around Rendering better then me. As we both don't have as much time and energy as usual it's quite a suitable project since it's not as time consuming like say a 3D Engine from scratch. It's just an idea and I might just change my mind as usual but let's see how things turn out shall we?
Oh and if you are interesting in helping just leave a comment below!
